Key Responsibilities:
-Supervise Contractors during the installation and Maintenance of Industrial Heat Treating Equipment.
– Perform start up, commissioning, test running, troubleshooting and debugging of Industrial Heat Treating Equipment

Supervise Contractors
The FE Engineer is responsible for the supervision of numerous contractors of various trades during the installation and maintenance of equipment. This supervision requires attention to detail as the FE Engineer is
responsible for completing paperwork to verify the accuracy and full completion of all work performed by all parties. The FE Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that all parties involved adhere to strict safety policies.

The FE Engineer is responsible for ensuring that projects stay on schedule, using a predetermined daily work schedule.
Personal Computer skills are a must for the FE Engineer, to include but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic internet research skills.
The FE Engineer will be required to travel to customer sites to perform and supervise installation and maintenance projects. Good “people skills” and professional communication are a must.

The FE Engineer is often required to visit customer facilities to troubleshoot, inspect, or repair equipment by
themselves. This includes electrical and automation as well as minor mechanical work.

Start Up of Equipment
– The FE Engineer will be performing various duties during the start up and commissioning of equipment after installation or maintenance. Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical circuits is critical; from 480 vac power
distribution to 24 vdc control circuits, to PLC and HMI programming, the FE Electrical Engineer must have a broad scope of knowledge and understanding of electrical circuits along with automation and controls.
Mitsubishi Electric PLC and GOT (HMI) is preferred.
– Knowledge of motor starters, variable speed drives, temperature controls, HMI, SCR, and UPS, as well as material handling systems are required for this position.
– Basic mechanical skills and use of basic hand tools and power tools are required. Knowledge of equipment and ability to make minor repairs are also part of the job of the FE Engineer. Must also be able to read and
understand both mechanical and electrical drawings/prints/schematics.
– The FE Engineer must have knowledge of gas fired combustion systems and their electrical control circuits and be able to troubleshoot these systems as well as supervise contractors in the maintenance and installation of these systems.
– Basic knowledge of Heat Treatment Processes and atmospheric controls, along with basic chemistry that takes place during the heat treating process are required of the FE Engineer.
– The FE Engineer must be adaptable; a self motivated, self thinker. Many situations arise that could seem unfamiliar and the FE Engineer must use critical thinking to determine the best course of action during these
situations.
