Position: Production Manager – Exempt

Job Type: Full-time

Position Summary:

The Production Manager is responsible for supervising and overseeing all daily production operations. With direct supervision over subordinate employees, is responsible for efficient production of confectionaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing work of 3 direct reports (Production Supervisors).
  • Responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality and environmental practices.
  • Develops the monthly production schedule with management advice and support.
  • Observes and supervise the work and responsibilities of all production employees.
  • Assures that all work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Reviews problems and issues with Supervisors on an ongoing basis.
  • Interfaces with management and other departments as required.
  • Generates production related reports.

  • Communicates with HR Manager for hiring needs.
  • Plans short, middle and long-term production plans, including plant and materials investment as well as Production Operators
  • Identifies and resolves issues related with QCDSE (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Environment)
  • Determines production process as well as production machineries and equipment arrangements.
  • Develops, updates and manages production specifications/standards and enforces production procedures.
  • Manages initial production control processes including educating and supporting for production operators.
  • Directs daily operation.
  • Trains Production Supervisors and Operators.
  • Obtains outside information and develops manuals/procedures of daily production plans, operation process and production load plans.
  • Oversees and evaluates production costs and productivities. Maintains production costs and productivities by providing ongoing trainings to employees and performing Kaizen activities.
  • Works with QA to ensure proper procedures are followed, documentation up to dated and corrected for timely release of products

Other Work/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for understanding and complying with the company’s safety procedures and safe work practices and for overseeing that subordinates understand and comply.
  • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.
  • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by GM of Production
  • Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
  • Reports all irregular issues and problems to supervisors for solution.
  • Maintains good communication with supervisors, office staff members and outside contacts.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Occasional travel required for project meetings, supplier/consultant meetings, inspections, and training.

Required Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years of related experience or Bachelors and 3 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP and GMP Audits.
  • Strong Managerial Skills, including hiring, training and development, scheduling, discipline, and retention.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of leadership in food and/or pharmaceutical
  • Ability to think independently, strong organizational, planning, implementation and execution skills.
  • Personable, professional, and productive within a team environment. Able to motivate and lead by example.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), Adobe Acrobat and Social Media.
